That's how I read it too - A "better" solution exists yet people claim the other one to be the innovation.

I am starting a project with Astro because I want to move into the Vite ecosystem.
The mental model is quite different when you're used to Next.js and React.
I find myself reaching to jsx very fast to write some UI logic. But I like the architecture of Astro compared to Next.js.
