Back in the day, an important part of the "move fast, break things" ethos was that you needed to first set things up so that your system could easily recover from one of your failed experiments. Seems everyone has forgotten that part.
I have a feeling that millennia from now, when some species decides to write the annals of sentient life in the galaxy, "They moved fast, and broke everything" is the single line that the human race will get in the book.
