A recent interaction here got me thinking about alignment in games.
In TTRPGs alignments tend to come as part of gameplay: spells, abilities, even character customisation may play off of it.
In games, it is more like a reflection of the player's choices.

In my ideal TTRPG system, I would want something that recognises my character design and rewards it.
Also, alignment usage is becoming much more a reflection of player choice in TTRPGs, with less and less restrictions over the years.
I can be a Paladin of any alignment, thank you!
But when used incorrectly, we blinker our vision and at worst can even reinforce stereotypes and prejudice.
Where the "guilt" and "joy" my character feels is expressed directly in gameplay.
Therefore encouraging to seek novelty, while rewarding for playing a character as they are intended to be played.
I'd rather that players themselves dictate, in rp, how characters feel when they tap into something 'bad' to aid 'good'.
As a player, my alignment is my own personal set of rules for the character
