I had shingles at 23 (& suffered for several days-not weeks) & can attest that it was the worst pain of my life-and I've given birth twice. As miserable as side effects can be, the benefits of the vaccine are worth it. And now that we may lose access to vaccines, I encourage everyone to get it asap.
