I've always wished, and asked, to have screen monitors for the panelists or BoF speakers. So you can see the presentation of your partners and have a better understanding of the afterward discussions with the audience. Regrettably, it has never been implemented ☹️ Hope you could do something 🤩

It would be cool to have an option for the accepted paper authors to specify which session best identifies their work. I felt there were some slight mismatches this year (not complaining).

And if things have to go into Friday, the workshops shouldn’t hit the same venn diagram of people. (Syspros, hust, interactive computing populations overlap quite a bit)

It's not clear the integration with the digital/online audience worked well. It was hard as a session chair to keep track of the room and the online stuff, especially as you couldn't see how many people were online.

There was some discussion about how to manage more submissions in “The Paper Is Dead. Long Live the Paper? – How LLMs Change the Field” and one specific proposal from there was open access reviews.

Also I was randomly chatting with a chemist. I’ll convey what I understood: in chemistry conferences, they include everything that is submitted — but the review process will decide if it’s to be published, just a talk, or a poster. Seemed like an interesting way to handle it.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend much of the technical program this year (I did lots of booth time, attended 1.5 workshops, and some BoFs/panels). So I don’t have a lot to say from direct experience.

It was one BoF and two panels I went to. Most details of these are at the level of the BoF/panel organizers.

The BoF and panels all had each speaker talk for a few minutes and then did Q&A. Went pretty well. What could go better? Minimize laptop switching & maybe include more varied viewpoints.
