This almost sounds like the James Robinson He-Man mini series. There He-Man is trapped in false memories of being a peasant, and has to fight his way out of the illusion, taking on various minions before finally fighting Skeletor. Making him an Earth office drone isn't hugely different to that.

The mini was good, and would've been a good intro to the world of you'd never seen it before. It could conceivably work as an isekai like take on MOTU. Or it could be crap. I don't have much hope. They've been trying to make this movie for 30 years and Leto killed my enthusiasm.

I figured they may have lost enough money doing that by now, but I guess not. They also love the tactic of riling up actual fans of the source materials as "marketing" in their eyes. It's exhausting.
