Sadly didn't get much time to draw this year, so I did a few smaller pieces and what resulted was the Sacred Mushrooms set. I might do more of this; using traditional ink and gold pen.

Gold is always a gorgeous accent to B&W work. These are delightful! Mushrooms always have such exquisite texture.

I really want to get into acrylic painting with no chance of ever showing it online. Just for myself. Otherwise, I have a list of illustrations I want to do but should work on the sketches first. Mostly crytpid-based but a few other things with mushrooms again. 😀

I'm hoping to learn acrylics this year too! I want to to try out some of the thin washes of acrylics mixed with color pencil I saw in Tran Nguyen's art book tut. I should prob keep a sketchbook for practice for myself too just so I don't get caught up in making everything 'good'. Yay cryptids!

Thanks for hosting! I’m still learning art but here are my favorites from this year (same two characters). my main goals for 2025 are to improve figure drawing and anatomy in general, especially faces, and learn perspective so I can make backgrounds that don’t look terrible

There's probably a slight recency bias because it's a newish piece, but my favourite for this year is probably "Overcome". Hard to say why, I'm just really happy with how the colors, composition and theme came together.

My main goal for 2025 is to grow towards more intricate pieces.

My fav piece 2024 for sure!! My art goals are to improve on my painting, and better understand the use of greys in shading. Going saturated all the time is fun but it looks kinda flat eventually 😅

This is by far my favorite piece of the year. I adore Sera's expression, and on a technical level, this is the first time I heavily used the lasso for shading and highlights! It really helped the tail.

Goals? Getting this comic story and scritp figured out enough that I can actually make the comic!

I'll start! My fave from this year is this piece I did of @restlesshands.bsky.social's character, Shame. It's a new style I want to nurture & this was a big step in the right direction!
My 2025 art goals:
-Do more trad painting
-Make more cover art
-Try comics, animatics, etc.

Thank you for your kind words! I've noticed since doing more digital, it's more difficult to me to dedicate to my mistakes. Going back to trad art is def going to be an exercise in combating my indulged perfectionism, but I'm going to enjoy the texture, the tactile feel of paper & paint granulation.

My favourite among them is the second one.
And yes I got some plans to improve, like instead of drawing a full scenery, I am looking to draw only clouds , sometimes only trees, only single objects, which would make me focus on a single thing, I want to improve my detailing process.
