You don’t fully understand it. The integrated model doesn’t work if you add on fragmented parts. It works because it’s a one stop shop. If my doctor orders a test - I get it. No insurance middleman steps in and says no. It’s a huge benefit and why KP denials are a fraction of the health insurers. - ThreadSky

YOU don't understand an integrated model. If KP tells your Dr a course if antibiotics is 7 days, your doctor orders antibiotics for 7 days.KP doesn't pay for more, your Dr knows that, & your Dr won't be a KP Dr getting a room full of patients from KP if he keeps trying to order 10 days.

nonsense. If your doctor says you need it for 7 days. you get it for 7 days, no question. there is no “kp” overriding medical decisions. Do you have kaiser? My doctor prescribes there and then and i pick it up 3 minutes later in the pharmacy. there is no delay waiting for anyone else’s rubber stamp

Quickly "but, over there" -- both systems have COIs.
Still, I'd take them over KP's 7 days of antibiotics & be sure to live in states with external review laws.
