I did. We had chickens which helped. Also put earth worms in the garden boxes. I love repurposing stuff. So i used housen and garden waste in it. Also to cut down on buying dirt the fall- used tripped down branches/leaves on the bottom to make natural weed barrier

I used to grow a bit using my own compost. Spring onions, butternut squash and tomatoes.

I cut them up and used them sauteed with onions. Also used in casserole- in quiche as well. Very good that way.

Patty pan squash. Ive heard them called scallop squash too. Thry are very hardy and put off a lot and I mean a whole lote more veggies than other squash Ive grown.
