I've been our only breadwinner since my partner lost their job in April 2024 & I wanted them to focus on their health, and while I've been able to make enough for us to get by, it wasn't enough to plan ahead for taxes, and I'm already on a $500/mo repayment plan for years I didn't file.

My repayment plan stipulates that if i don't file my future taxes on time I default on it and they'll take our car, so I figure I should ask for some help so maybe I won't have to ask for an even longer commission queue when I already owe so much to so many extremely patient people.

thankfully starting on ADHD meds has made it possible for me to at least start on my taxes before the due date, but it's still extremely hard to focus enough to finish in time, so i wanted to get that out there while i have the spoons for it. I'll adjust the kofi goal when i have the final amount

fwiw i use FreeTaxUSA, my ass has been expensemaxxing over piles of receipts and emails and spreadsheets for days and while i'm pretty proud of myself for finding so many deductions, i wanna make this the last year it turns into such a shitshow and start filing quarterly like i'm supposed to

Oof, yeah. Probably the main reason I'm putting off jumping into any sort of freelance. Keeping on top of filing quarterly feels like it'd be Hell.
