But EU growth is no better brexiteers cry…the point is brexit damaged both the UK and the EU.

Economic growth and resilience would, logically by any even semi intelligent thinking, have been improved had brexit not happened.

With Trump tariffs we have not been this vulnerable since we left the SM & CU.
If Starmer can’t see this then god help us.

And when the American economy stutters because of the disruption going on there, the economic outlook for the government will unfortunately get worse. Will be interesting to see whether this pushes us closer to Europe again.

That said, we need to be alive to the fact that populists still have forward momentum in a number of European countries. This could mean some unpleasant things happening in member states and / or changes in EU priorities. Not all Europeans are appalled by Trump 2.0.

And Starmer is doing nothing! He claims he can make Brexit work. He can't, it's unworkable and he and his government are not being honest about the damage it has done and continues to do. So very irresponsible and hugely disappointing.
