I was also shocked(not shocked) at the amount of times this happened for capitalism reasons, often pushed by corporate entities that had interests in these countries.

Corporate lobbying running government operations. Seems relevant for some reason.

Side note: it’s also funny (not funny) how often the US had someone replaced in the name of spreading democracy, only for the country to fall into under even worse totalitarian rule once the deed was done. Almost like they never cared about democratic rule to begin with.
