We’re a wealthy country. We’ve also been a stable country. This caused too many people (including me) to just assume the government would keep on working. Too many of us looked away for too long. If we give up hope we’ve lost. I can’t do much; but, I’ll do all I can to fix this.

I’m “living” on SSDI/Medicare. I paid into it. My parents & grandparents paid into SS. They all died young. The funds they paid in over decades were absorbed into a general fund rather than paid out in & stolen by the govt

I’m no MAGA supporter but there needs to be a real conversation about SS reform. It will be gone in 10 years without reform. There are millions of people on SS benefits who simply do not need it. People with a lot of money hidden in trusts that they should be living on instead of SS.

They need to lift the cap and allow more funding. There should be no cap. If they want to do a sliding scale on higher salaries past a certain threshold fine, but the cap needs to go.

That’s just asking people working today to pay more. The issue is fewer and fewer Americans are being born so fewer people to support the retirees. You can’t keep asking people to pay more and more. Address the people who should not be collecting. I add myself to that list. I won’t need it.

People should probably take a snapshot of their "projected benefits" (assuming the website is still functional).
