I'd tell him that this is a balance between having access to money and medical care, doing meaningful day job work, benefitting humanity and the environment by democratically transitioning to socialism, and doing what he loves.

Then I'd point him to his local comics making group and DSA chapter. :3

I write this because I'm wrestling with long term goals.

Do I want to teach at a university like Lynda Barry? Start my own for-profit "Comics Room" like the local pottery studio?

Or keep my day job the same?

And then... what's my work as an organized socialist in the increasingly fascist US?

I'm not alone in this, I'm not isolated. All isolation is illusion. My task is to stay in direct connection with my friends, family, comrades, community. And I stay silly. I will continue to draw funny animal people. They help! ❤️
