Why not try to use the heat coming from it to generate heat for locals? Geothermal or similar system of capturing the heat and transferring it some way to locals. Then make the coal companies there pay for the installation and management of the system!
Natural underground fires that can burn continuously for longer than a person's lifetime. That's pretty crazy. I mean I knew about magma, but this feels different. 🤷♂️
