A lot of America is becoming unmoored to their detriment. LDS members are doing comparatively well in general but needs to be on guard against atomization and the pull of individualism and unchristian extremism.
Every mormon woman I've been close friends with were molested as children by family members. In every case, the police were not involved because the Church helped cover it up.
LDS needs its Catholic-level scandal moment.
It's clear why women leave (sexual abuse) and men don't (sexual abusers).
I left the church when the leadership rallied behind my father instead of his abuse victims. My father went so far as to contact bishops in states/towns we moved into to harass us and convince them of his innocence even though we weren't even trying to go to their church anymore.
You mean women don't want to wear bonnets and be treated like second class birthing cattle for a bunch of stuffy, boring overly religious controlling men??
As a younger woman I stayed because I wanted to be with my family forever. Once they had all grown up that threat lost its sting. Instead I saw what was always there - an eternity of being part of a harem having spirit children who would never know anything about me. How is this heaven?
I’m a PIMO and stopped paying tithing last year but my wife is still pretty devout. I think that there’s a far more who are just going through the motions than we realize.
Mormons have always treated women horribly as do fundamentalist Christians. Some day, you'll look around and there will be no women and no childlren. And you'll wonder why.

Shocking.
(I’d be surprised if several of them aren’t already holding their own services or “freedom-focused” scripture study groups.)
