Mixamo is a great start! But eventually I do suggest learning the manual process. Even just to understand how it works under the hood. Although I guess it depends on what you intend to use him for 🤔
Oh interesting! Yeah that can totally work for a low poly model! I tend to just retopo trusting that I’m doing it right, because auto-rigging works up to a point with higher poly models, but then you get into the touchy parts, where it’s not always clear whether the AR is wrong or the model is wonky
