I’m in that camp too. And also agree strongly with what you say about reforming local government taxation.

Been thinking. It hurts. Anyhoo, I'm very much in the "the UK government should've raised taxes to deal with its fiscal position camp". My personal preference would have actually have been to reform local government taxation to provide more slack in the system elsewhere and deal with other issues...
