The earlier needle bar drama resolved, Cherno Alpha (my walking foot #sewing machine) is again in fine fettle. Now I’m just waiting for the tacking glue to dry on the leather short’s waistband so that I can finish ‘em up. See also: it’s important to have a reference library. 😉 - ThreadSky

I've been looking for pattern drafting books and resources, the ones that seem good seem very expensive(they may be textbooks).

Better Homes & Gardens makes really good sewing and quilting books!

The best pattern drafting books are indeed textbooks, and I write from experience that they are worth the money. Luckily, they are often easy to find on used book sites.
