Don't discuss the lies, or politics at all. Find ways to help each other out. Trade skills with each other; maybe they need a babysitter, and you need a plumber. Or whatever skills you have.
Ha! Go visit them. They probably are anti-vaxers, and you can take an infectious disease home to your family. I say shun them until they can change my mind.
I had this same exact thought in regards to corporations that are affected with the trade/tariff war in that they should reach out to one another to see if they can help one anotherπ€·ββοΈ
I think what people love about Trump is he allows them to hate the 'others': black, muslims, immigrants, etc. But these people barely know anything about them.
You gotta change the narrative on it. Ask if they actually know anyone in those groups. Tell your side of the story about them. They ->
might not believe you, but only have other peoples' opinions to go off of - which is really not a reliable source of knowledge. They need to get their own knowledge of those people
This. I've been making sure to nurture the relationships with my neighbors. What can we barter. How can we support each other. Where do we have alignment on an idea somewhere. Build on that. We all rise together. Division is what led us here, from numerous different sources and motivations.
I believe in VALUE for existence which includes everyone. I don't believe in people to care for me, though. I trust that people are not obligated to care, so when they do....it has VALUE. When they don't, I am not deceived.
I mean... but what if, you've kinda lost faith in humanity? I personally, never thought our country was THIS fucking ignorant, unintellectually curious, and just plain mean. I guess jokes on me, but.. I feel like over half the population is absolutely batshit.
Hmm I get the spirit of this quote, and healthy criticism of authority is always good, but this is also the same logic that some people use to justify conspiracy theories like anti-vax.
So you think government and authority is good? Lmao you're a coward and a sheep, because you care more about not looking like someone else rather than your own freedom. People like you are more dangerous than tyrannical governments, because they need people like you.
Twitter-tier "so you hate waffles?" reply. I already said healthy criticism of authority is good. It's just that uncritical application of the quote can be misused to sow distrust in scientific or field experts (i.e. authoritative figures) and follow charlatans instead, e.g. antivax movement.
Those who believed in authority often came to a bad end. In his last letter to his son, Rudolph Hoss admitted his mistake of blindly obeying the Reich without question.
..have you /seen/ "each other"? Yeesh. ... I mean, momentarily setting aside the ridiculousness of the construct "believe in". Sure, I've met a few mostly-decent people in my fifty-mumble years of unsolicited, externally-imposed life, but there's a whole lot of self-serving shitheads out there.
I figured that was rhetorical and we all knew by now we are basically on our own at least

Talking helps to get to know someone.
It falls with communication.
I think in some ways we have gotten away from communicating with one another.
It is a matter of building one relationship at a time.
