TBF I proposed underneath the Eiffel tower. She said yes, but at the meal afterwards, she did point out that we were at the top of a mountain alone 2 weeks earlier and that would ave been more romantic.

In her defence, when we'd talked about getting married we *had* agreed that holiday engagements are passé, even as I sat there with a ring hidden in my sock drawer a few weeks before the trip.
