The judicial system is deliberate and grinds slowly. Even with a Trump-friendly SCOTUS, they will be quickly overwhelmed by the number of legal challenges coming their way.

But even if a judge says “you can’t do that,” what would stop them from just ignoring that? They believe they have unlimited power. Guardrails only work when acknowledged as real. Putin does whatever he wants and imprisons or kills anyone who gets in his way, that’s Trump’s governing model, right?
Unlike Russia, we are still bound by the Constitution. Trump's power comes from the people. When he goes against the Constitution, against rule of law, despite how he might rationalize his actions, he will lose large swaths of his support. So will anyone in Congress who supports his actions.
But he convinced a lot of people that the constitution says things it doesn't say. The people that elected him believes every word he says and don't factcheck him. When scotus ruled that he was immune from all crimes i lost hope that they would follow the constitution because that was not in tbere
