Same here. Itβs made me rethink relationships with those that wrung their hands, screamed about hope and change, promised to show up to door knock and then zilch.
We canβt afford to pander to their patience. We have to invest in our children and grandchildren. We have to pass them the tools or we doom them to failure also.
Sigh. Yes. I've had way too many arguments with people with whom I fundamentally agree. A lot of people get upset with the transition from shared philosophy to attempts to figure out what's needed in order to accomplish these goals.
YEs... go to https://mobilize.us please repost. multiple organizations and local as well as online groups. PPl on BLUESKY are sharing info like MTN. great. Please act in community is essential for the resistance. However big or small-from reposting this to protests in the streets and much in between.
Exactly....once again leaving it up to us "we the people" to handle when we had the safeguards already in place to prevent it. Garland dropped the ball!
They didn't help, but the delay of prosecution was what really hurt. Garland could've pushed the case through faster but refused, I wish Biden had appointed someone else for the DOJ, we might've had a different outcome.
Absolutely. I had to block an activist vitriolic today over Joeβs βfailureβ in Gaza. Joe worked with the hand he was dealt with two recalcitrant sides.
So true! I think part of the reason we lost is because of people falsely claiming both sides are the same. One side wants me to have affordable healthcare and education. The other side wants to take away my rights. There's a clear difference.
Necessary, like realism to a degree, but it will lead you astray if youβre not careful. Kissinger was famously pragmatic. And also one of the most hated human beings in history. Navigating pragmatism is tricky and fraught with compromises that can cost you your soul
And sorry but it seems to me that once election night was over that's all we've gotten. Is people yelling at clouds. Nobody has any pragmatic activism going anymore. Scary as hell.
You are so right, but every now and then you just want to scream (like I did the days following the election) but now I am ready to both be active and pragmatic.
Yes! We need to use this (f'd up) situation to get a hella lot more strategic: Playing a long-game and being far less "predictable," like the right's been playing it. Reviewing "The Art of War" would be a good start.
Pragmatism has become a βdirty wordβ in American politics these days to the point where any form of comprise with the βenemyβ is seen as a betrayal.
Nailed it. Being pragmatic is so often conflated with nihilism/cynicism. As if having a clear understanding of what we are up against is inherently negative. That is the first step, a clear picture. The second is to plan action. Third is act. Leaving it to others to act won't work and got us here.
And a pragmatic law machine protects their words . So be ass unsympathetic as u want ..legalese worsens over the time with elites running the world . But hey man idk what Iβm talking about
Agree. So whereβs the plan for taking back the Senate and House in 2026. We can limit the damage Trump can do by putting Democrats in control of Congress. Who is taking charge of this?
I already do everything in my power, unfortunately almost everything goes to tRump here in Oklahoma. Part of the problem is asking us to do the work they should've completed with the DoJ, an not the public...obviously the public is too distracted to care.
How are they allowed to pass laws that blatantly violate the U.S. Constitution? Join the ACLU and Indivisible. Organize with others to mobilize voters and increase voting. Become a lobbyist for democracy. Marching in the street is only one of many forms of protest and taking action.
Never understood the hate for online activism, if thatβs all you have the energy for then itβs still lightyears better than the alternatives like regressive hate-posting/reactionary trolling.
If youβre able to do pragmatic or real-world activism, thatβs very admirable and very much appreciated.
In other words, yelling "AMERICA IS AN EVIL IMPERIALISTS COUNTRY" or "ALL BILLIONAIRES SHOULD GET A BULLET" makes the side that is yelling look like a raving lunatic.
True, passion without a plan doesnβt create change. Activism shines when it combines bold demands with achievable steps. Thatβs how real progress happensβturning energy into results!

βAll governments rely on cooperation and obedience for their very existence. When people choose to withhold or withdraw that cooperation, governments are left without any pillars to support their weight.β @gene-sharp-quotes.bsky.social
There are many legitimate reasons why Americans are so divided at this time but, from a different perspective, isn't it possible most of us have gotten complacent or don't know how good we have it, compared to millions of others, and need to see how bad it can get before we feel the need to act?
Wishful thinking but Biden giving a blanket pardon to ALL Registered Democrats for any thing they will do in the next four years would create a lot of activists. Sadly not possible.
Isn't his sole legislative achievement about renaming a post office or something? He seems to get an awful lot of cred (from some folk) when he hasn't really done too much.
That's the point.
Love Bernie...but
We are lost.
Truth gets much uglier.

If we can't even hold yamtits, or Giga Chud accountable, where does it end?
I agree 100% there's a problem with the system - and CU is an absolute disgrace. But for someone who became a Rep in 1991 and a Senator in 2007, you'd think he'd have chalked up quite a few legislative wins. On the plus side, Bernie has achieved more than Jim Jordan.
If Kamala confirms him as the 47th POTUS it would be the most stupid thing she has ever done. If the Democrats allow it to happen, They should hang their head in shame.
Invaludate the election on the grounds that it was unlawfully influenced by Elon Musk Lottery scam to buy peoples votes.
& 'pragmatism' is the $ell out cowardice of the Rahm Schumer Pelosi kind of losers*? Since 1992, 32 yrs ago, we've had 20 yrs of excuse making, paving the way for t_Rump, Cheney-Bush.
*us wittle peep$ have LOST, they've done great.
The "landmine" called a caltrop is an area denial weapon made up of two or more sharp nails or spines arranged in such a manner that one of them always points upward from a stable base. Historically, they were useful against ground troops and chariots. π€
When making these for modern times, I would think you would want to make the spikes long enough to puncture combat type boots and large vehicle tires...again, sharing for no particular reason, at all. π
You can't have a compromise, if the other party doesn't want to accept a compromise as a solution.
If you demand the currently impossible unicorn and refuse to accept a practical pony as a compromise, you will not get the impossible unicorn, no matter how much you scream, yell and blame "the olds".
I am not american, I do not know who Mancin is nor what he did/didn't do.
Also, you seem to be thinking that Biden bombed Gaza (he didn't), or that the US can just decide for the peace conditions for Israel & Palestine & everyone will be happy with it (you can't, it isn't your decision to make).
The two-state solution is not perfect nor ideal, but it is the most realistic compromise to stabilize the region and bring peace to both palestinians and israeli people.
Both Bibi and Hamas stand in its way. Both must be removed in order to achieve it.
Biden could have stopped sending bombs. Instead he lied repeatedly to the American public about the bombs, and kept sending them.
Then, shocker! A much needed constituency to win 2024 voted against or stayed home.
Bibi would just get the bombs from somewhere else, and then Biden would lose ALL leverage on Bibi.
Things aren't black and white. You can offer a simple solution, but implementing it changes the equation, so you have to think of the ramifications, too, before you choose to act.

Had to shout at them...
Okβ¦that was funny.
Not exactly your point, I know, but still yelling at the clouds.
Start with what theyβre most afraid of: EDUCATION.
Never accept zero. MAKE EVERY MOVE COUNT.
Iβm 65 and writing letters, voting and marching have done nothing. Iβm ready to spice it up a little.
Did it even happen?
It's not complicated. So I guess π€· that's why it's not popular with a majority of politicians π π€

And resistance is for a lifetime, not an election.
Let's go!
Just kidding, I agree with your statement.

I am really not doing all that well.

I do my part as a protesting citizen. But technically our justice system in place, should've handled this traitor.

Who wants a foreigner making decisions for the American people anyway?
But has the Dems got any balls?
Musk FRS is a South African-born American businessman. He moved to Canada and later became a U.S. citizen in 2002.
