Also, it seems like every single Republican in Congress believes tariffs work the way trump says they do - and not the way they have worked for the last several hundred years.

While any effort is to be applauded, it seems like they couldn’t coordinate on a unified idea. Some not present, some in pink, some in Ukrainian colours, some with signs after the apparent directive was to not have signs. This is why the Democrat response isn’t being effective. They’re in disarray.
I respectfully disagree. He wants them to make a scene. He’s been baiting them to make a scene. Then it becomes about the democrats making a scene. Sometimes you have to give people the space to light their own fuse when they sit on the pile of explosives.
There’s little fight in the Democrat party, it’s one of the reasons why things are where they are at. Most lack the guts to stand up to a Trump presidency.
