I definitely know people to ask around. Especially if we capped wordcount to limit total scope. It's so very possible, that's what makes it terribly tempting.

Yeah it takes time. Yeah it could not work out. You have to learn people skills and all the ups and downs of running something. But wouldnt you rather have tried it?
In fairness i think modern day fandom zines/anthologies have scared people off LOL no you dont have to run a massive campaign that involves money and suddenly theres callout posts everywhere... it can be chill and if people flake or forget or life happens its nbd
i was in an elden ring zine recently that my friend organized that he printed and stapled himself, like people forget u can just do these things with ur friends for so cheap!
100%! It can be done if you put in the time. And tbh I think that's what people want, they want a fun project that they can work on with their friends ;w;
Adding that you have to be the sort of person who enjoys organising to some degree (esp for zines and the like) LOL ive worked in teams my whole career so im used to the headbangs of "wait what size was i supposed to export it?!"/ "what was the brush again?"/ "how do i do X?"
