To me, it just looks like a fake out.
French far-right voters need to be able to tell themselves that this isn't the old Front Nationale, which has distanced itself its roots of spouting Holocaust-denying screeds. They haven't changed, they're just smarter about pretending.
I'd rather have them openly proclaim their alliances and beliefs than the disingenuous mouthing of being a new modern party of French culture and order.
