Yeah I don't think you can really "steal" someone's account through any game. As someone who's currently a Cyber Security Major you either need a Very Flimsy Account on your end or they have to somehow know your Acc password and where and how to access your 2FA code.

The only way people could steal your account through the game is if the person trying to steal your account had a modded client of the game that allowed them to somehow see your IP, and then from there they know a lot more than just your acc log in

What probally happened was someone overflowed her inbox causing the server to get overloaded and crash, similarly to how a DDOS would work. Nothing of concern should of happened, the server just needed to reboot after what effectively was an integer overflow

Example: Your on a server in MC and someone who wasn't intended to join is able to get it, and they blow up a massive amount of TNT in a single spot. It's gonna cause the server to crash because the game server can't handle that much processing power so it hard resets. (Okay tangent over)

I'm reading now that Himetokki (the person that made the post and shared the screenshot you retweeted) took down the post cause they didn't realize that they were spreading misinformation. And they apologies plus did their best to notify anyone that believed/share their og post thinking it was true.

I think it is a mistake they took it down, they should have just edited their post. The OP pays for twitter blue, the original post had so much trending to it, the apology and correction will not reach that level.

Yeah the reason they deleted their og and made a new one correcting it was because they ran out of time to edit it since it had nearing a day since they made the tweet. They said this in their new apology post.

It really sucks, my only fear is that some people might believe it still and stop playing. Nobody should ever have that worry especially if it’s nothing to actually be worried about. Makes me sick.

I don’t think blocking users on steam prevents them from joining steam lobbies, but I’d have to check again. iirc, the developer would have to do a friend check to see if the account is blocked.

To clarify that message isn't in the webfishing server, I'd have to assume it's from a moderator for a streamer's discord. The dev has been having a hard time dealing with misinformation and expressed as much in the official server but that's about it

I don't think there's a public POC but basically what this does is two fold:

* Replay attack the letter send packet
* If this fails to crash the client immediately, spam create metal/client object spawns.

Eventually the client will crash on an exception being thrown.

It's just a game booter.
