We watched Faithful's once-scandalous "The Girl on a Motorcycle" 1968 last night, and Kidman's "Babygirl" recently. Both are explorations of women's sexuality and empowerment. One ends in tragedy one in victory. Faithful's version got an X rating in the USA, though it's not pornographic at all.

A dear friend was spending his last hours in hospice and we brought him his beloved Dunkin Donuts coffee. As we left him he was sometimes conscious. He looked intently at me and said, "Don't forget me." I have an old Dunkin Donuts coffee mug that he had given me and I remember him.

A little thing like a mug can be meaningful. I still have an old plastic mug that my mom and aunt shared during their long trek through Europe.

BTW, sounds like you’re in Boston. When I was there, the only good coffee was at DD. And one place in Harvard Square. Pre-Starbucks explosion.

Not a Bostonian! Chicago ... true orange and blue. I really don't care for Starbucks, even if they do put my name on the cup. Lots of DD around here ... one a block away (closer to us than the neighboring Starbucks!)

I never lived in Chicago, I didn’t know it had the same DD culture. There would have been no good coffee in Boston at all… I still prefer DD to Starbucks’s.
