I personally think that Fujimoto being sloppy and forgetting details, like Nayuta's mole or Yoshida's earrings, is due to Chainsaw Man being already serialized and on a time schedule; which is why he doesn't take the time for each chapter that he normally would if he had no time constraints.

It’s not out of character for him to retire characters so unceremoniously, but I am pretty surprised this is where Nayuta’s active role ends. I really don’t understand where we’ll end up narratively, but I’m looking forward to it.
