fujimoto definitely has a deft hand when it comes to writing about gender roles and sexuality. denji bucks a lot of typical trends with masculine male protagonists so while i dont think she's an explicit trans allegory i imagine it's at least crossed the author's mind
I wish I could find the thread but I remember way back on Twitter, there was a whole theory that Denji would transition. I saw it as a solid possibility with how well it was laid out and explained by the person. I’d support it 100% if it became reality. Amazing art btw, I’d love to see more!
