-have friends
-read other peoples writing
-better to be a bad writer than not a writer at all
-if someone tells you they have a problem with your work, they're probably correct on some level
-if someone tells you how to fix it, they're probably wrong on many levels

-don't let others' obstructive and censorious rules hinder your expression

-go for a walk sometimes
-that being said when writing about sensitive topics like disability, mental health, etc it's a good idea to consult people who have firsthand experience. unless you plan on being heavily criticized
