one of the big learning curves I had was finding out A) over time you will constantly encounter people who despise you over something either misinterpreted or just completely made up, and B) attempting to correct it will usually make them hate you more

I've learned having minor visibility online is that there are people who go from liking your work to hating *you* based on their interpretation of one sentence. No seeking clarification, no questioning whether or not they misunderstood, no room to misspeak or make mistakes--you're just the villain.
