First you need to pick a programming language. Next, you have to get used to the fundamentals/syntax of said language otherwise you'll have no clue on wtf you're doing.
I would add more but I'm only an amateur, there's probably more programmers who are more experienced than I.

When I finally get my laptop fix I'm gonna build so many projects...
