Hate these things. They’re some floofy architect’s idea of a bike rack to make their drawings look pretty. (Or cheap metal that qualifies a building towards LEED certification w/o actually providing functional bike storage.) The ones at my office disappeared into the overgrown bushes yrs ago.
I have a cargo ebike with a front rack. Not gonna lift it over the wave, even if I could fit it. The right side is right against the wall. The left is too close to window to fit
This reminds me of the all-time bike rack of shame at Manhattan Beach Trader Joe's. It's behind the shopping cart corral, next to a wall. Luxury car drivers park in the bike access lane so that their cars don't get scratched. So I have to just wait for the driver to return & pull out
I found a different (highly rated) physical therapy place with a bike lane in front and indoor bike parking!
They said, since the bike lane was completed in January 2025, patients are biking to appointments
I never lock my cargo bike up to anything. I figure with racks it's pushing 90lbs and I don't have a lock long enough to lock it to a bike rack (I need a second lock).
I lock the motor in the app and lock right outside the door.
Also, you would have to be a magician with an angle grinder to get to my unlock - the benefits of a super wide frame, fenders and rear racks - and you would still have a 90lb bike to wrestle.

(That's still not enough bike space but...)

There are never usable racks.
