Would be very handy if the Coalition released the details of their energy policy so it can be examined by the experts, oh and of course, questioned by the media?
Barnaby and the Dickson Dud have no scientific qualifications and their antiscience stance against renewables is actually dangerous for our future and they must called out by the media. Hopfully both fools will be consigned to the dustbin of history next year.
Yep! And the CSIRO didn’t say a word about the water use required to run nuclear. We don’t have the time, the money nor the water. Let alone the desire to play with nuclear - where if things go wrong, they don’t do it in a small way. #NoNuclearAus #auspol
I suppose people and industries want energy, both thermal and electrical in many places, even Australia. Many would like it to be clean, not contributing to GHGs in the atmosphere, and firm in order to use it all of the time or at any time. The first ones are likely to take the longest.
The Water Wars.
Adani mining leases not about coal but owning drilling rights above great Australian artesian basin. #LNP are clueless about how Adani are playing them for water.
Nuclear projects are enormous. I understand that vast sums can more or less disappear as projects go way over budget.
I would think that is their only advantage.
Typically, Dutton's response to any criticism of his nuclear policy is to attack Chris Bowen's credibility and the credibility of our scientists, with the media in full support.
The major mistake is pretending that intermittent, material intensive weather harvesting is the same as a (comparatively) reliable fueled thermal generator which will operate in virtually all weather or time of day. They aren’t equivalent.
What is the reliable fueled thermal generator?
Are you referring to Nuclear or Coal?
The sun shines somewhere every day, the wind blows somewhere every day, then we have hydro & gas & batteries... It works...
Actually, I’m referring to any fueled generator, although my preference is some type of nuclear energy. The sun shining somewhere else other than where you need it does little to provide energy in the form that you need it, likely electricity.
