OK… so now there’s a mandate for a common physical port.
Anyone care to explain USB Power Delivery or the multitude of data transfer configurations that exploit the USB-C connector?
There’s gonna be a lot of cable waste!

Hmph. USB-C is way too delicate. Old apple lightning connector is much more robust, and even makes it possible to clean the wire side connections.

Can’t complain, though, EU is always right… 😀

I have used USB-C on 3 devices and Apple’s connector on my iphone for a few years, in that period i have broken 3 apple original cables and zero USB-C cables.
My laptop and phone are charged at similar cycles and always with the same cable…

Granted, original cables are poor, i’ve broke some but all connectors have survived, now using reinforced cables.
I’ve broken several usb-c connectors, on laptop side and wire side in much shorter time. Sadly, there is no reinforced usb-c connectors 😔
