I snuck out during lunch to one of the long island events.

Definitely a "on the fly" organizing effort, which led to FUD, but apparently was legit.

What I have seen is warnings to not ‘sign up’ to attend. That is most likely a honeypot to put you on a registry. But if you are near a protest? Fucking go!

I've seen similar warnings. I am stuck working anyway, but it seems like a number of folks were worried to that end. That said, the paranoia in this is is THAT the method to silence people? Make them fearful of infiltrators?

Perhaps. But I have a friend in CO that is reporting that there *is* known ICE activity around the protest near her. That's what pushed me over the edge from "suspicious" to "concerned."

I just attended in Boston. It was real, sincere, grassroots and not well organized. It felt good to do something, no matter how small, rather than the big fat nothing that we’ve been able to do so far.

Agreed. Honestly, I had heard the worries about it and shared those worries as I planned to attend, but my thoughts were: 1) better to do something and be there than not, and 2) I’m a middle aged white guy, gonna use my privilege like a weapon.
