You guys should not work with Kouddous. He should be excluded from progressive circles for his work discrediting #Morsi in #Egypt back in 2013. The coup in #Pakistan, which @ryangrim.bsky.social is doing good work covering, is a re-run of the Egyptian coup against Morsi, which Sharif backed.

It's worse on the left though, because there's no one to hold them accountable. The left was all on the same sight as tge right wing, the zionist lobby, etc, in abject terror at the possibility that the Muslim Brotherhood - the nationalist movement that won the elections - would govern.

The decade long decline in democracy we have seen began with this coup against Morsi, the leader of the non-aligned movement, a historically popular figure, and confident of victory in the parliamentary elections which were three months away at the time of the coup.

No one ever gets held accountable. Doesn't matter if you're wrong, or dishonest, so long as you build your follower count.

But, as we saw in Syria, hope never dies.

When the jails empty in Egypt, and people pour out in their tens of thousands, the real story will be told.

Surely the US can't be so naive to think if all of the countries around Israel are stripped bare that will end all of the problems and Israel will settle down?
