Gorgeous! And you're combining pan pastel with colored pencils? I'd have worried the pencil would be too waxy, but obviously it works the way you're using them.

Thank you! I used mostly Faber Castell polychromos and Derwent Lightfast here; they aren't very waxy at all, and the media seem to work together, though the layering of pastel over pencil, and vice versa, is minimal; most of the layering is pencil on pencil.

Ah, minimal layering between them must be it. I enjoy mixed media, but not all media wants to play nicely (and naturally it's always too late to fix it once I finally learn. 😅) Thanks for sharing, really appreciate it.

Ooph, watercolor is literally the toughest medium (I don't care what they say about oils 😅). If you try, I recommend spending extra for the best paper; it allows for all those special techniques + to lift up mistakes. I think your style will translate beautifully to watercolor w/ colored pencils.

I found with pencils that it's worth it to buy the best paper you can. Paper makes a huge difference -- and I'm sure it's the same with paints. What appeals to me with watercolour is the slight loss of control -- whereas with pencils it's all about control. Thanks :)
