If AI is replacing human jobs, it should also bear financial responsibility. AI should be subject to income tax, just as human workers are, to contribute to public services and infrastructure that sustain society.

AI replacing human jobs? That increases profits. Profits are returned to investors. Investors have the GOP that gives them tax cuts. So real human beings (labor) gets screwed.
If we are doing a wishlist of AI legislation can we also require training data to be made open source?
This would make finding out who stole what from whom much easier and also remove a barrier to other ai companies or hobbyist individuals.
As long as legislation is influenced by big money lobby groups, AI will get the same treatment as gun manufacturers: no suing the AI's company. And, under the autocratic regime a friend of the president can also never be sued. Imo, of course.
Vance is attending the meeting in France. AP writes he "is expected, while in Paris, to push back on European efforts to tighten AI oversight while advocating for a more open, innovation-driven approach." I hope Europe can stand firm.
That's actually an old idea. In my country, it's called "Machinery Tax" (with a negative sound) and has been discussed since the late 70s. It was never realized, though.

Your problem isn’t AI. It’s capitalism.
It is GORGEOUS

Especially if we go Sabot on their robotic arses...
