I've never been under any illusion that laws stop fascists. How many times have I posted that laws don't prevent people from doing anything?
But that doesn't mean they're irrelevant.
Laws are expressions of our values.
That's why it's so important to fight to make them better.

We need an entirely new paradigm of law. We are still basically stuck with Hammurabi, a sovereign describing legitimate uses of force, & slaves obeying; the bizarre theater of trials.
Mencius & oddly, St. Paul, have writings useful in this regard.
