Disney really did kill an entire animation studio and then decides to dig up its popular IP to milk it (most likely for all eternity) without said animation studio’s blessing or involvement…

I know most people would view this as poor taste. But then again, this isn't the first time that this sort of thing happened. Remember, after Hanna-Barbera got bought and absorbed into WBA, WB still continues to make both Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry productions without HB to this very day.

That’s true, I’m just saying, nowadays, not only are corporate mergers, acquisitions, and absorptions becoming more common, but so is IP mining.

Funny you mention WBA and Hanna-Barbera tho, as Cartoon Network Studios got absorbed under WBA a year or two ago due to corporate restructuring.

Oh well. But honestly, Ice Age 6 and as well as MANY MORE SEQUELS like Toy Story 5, Shrek 5, etc, are all examples of the current creative stagnation that Feature Animation is in right now. Thank god for Sony Animation for their upcoming original films like K-Pop: Demon Hunters for example.
