at this point i don't even care when there's a data breach anymore. it's not like i can do anything about it. like how much more of my personal information can they possibly steal?

i grew up in the "never tell anyone anything about yourself online" internet, and growing up into the "everyone has all your data" internet was absolute whiplash
yeah, like, this is why I'm not too upset about the data breach part of the recent Internet Archive attack... I use it to back up stuff in the first place, so if someone else has copied it, they're really just helping... (Now, the DDoS part of the attack, though, now THAT part is heinous & evil)
Like when all our ssns got hacked and I saw a guide on what to do now and it was just "contact your bank and credit cards if you think you've been hacked" well we have?
Bank of America had a data breach and someone spent over $300 on google games from my account.
They had to have a computer making purchases because in 3 minutes they bought hundreds of games for a $1 a
piece! The bank took 3 months to return my money. Even though they told me they were hacked!
Then I was notified that there was a breach at the online store I shopped at and they spent hundreds of dollars with my card on movies. That took a while to fix. Cancel my card and swear that I do not send movies to Puerto Rico nor have I been to Nigeria to buy phones!

I sat sobbing at the emergency vet with a sick cat, until my brother came through and said he'd pay
none of the finance options they could offer me approved
