I don't need Chappell Roan realizing I am a massive fan. She might already know it by some analytics person on her team telling her someone in some small town is a massive fan, but she still can't put my face and name together.
sometimes I do a reply so good I get a like or a follow back from a bigger account. that's my little treat for posting good. you can't expect the reward without doing the work
Imagine the clout madness it takes to say "I can tolerate the link suppression, fascists, and gore of Twitter but I draw the line at not following back"
It’s ironic, because one of the things I find most annoying about Bluesky is that every other follower you get is just a massive account trying to farm follow backs
I assumed then that people were doing it to get a bunch of followers and then sell the account (which is usually what happened). Here I guess they’re not selling fast enough so they’re complaining instead
Yeah. They accumulate a ton of followers and sell them, I remember seeing it happen a lot on Twitter where cryptocurrency sellers would buy up big accounts. No idea if it’s happening here yet but since November, it’s felt like people are gearing up for it
I think that’s a part of it but to me it feels like there’s also this personal indignation that they deigned to follow you so why aren’t you following back?
i am very happy that we've managed to be mutuals across multiple sites and bannings but also it wouldn't have made a negative difference to how we interact if you didn't follow because that would be fucking weird
I dont understand why ppl want to follow back every single person. Aren't they interested in curating their experience in any way?
Like, just because I like somebody's content doesn't mean they'll like mine. That's OK. I'd much rather my mutuals be a real connection rather than a social obligation
Idk. I'm coming from Tumblr where your follow and follower counts are totally private, so being worked up about how many followers you have compared to others on the site just feels so alien to me lol
The equal parts honor and fear I feel anytime a big account just LIKES a post would not be healthy if every single one I follow followed me back. I don’t expect interaction, I’m just shouting into the wind about the shit I like. I don’t need more than the occasional like or reply.
I’m here because I got tired of every other post I saw on my feed trying to one up the other on how fucking stupid it was, I can’t ever go back to Twitter or it’ll cause instant brain damage at this point.
Why do users of Bsky worry about numbers, it's not as if you make anything but extra work for yourself. There's no money to be made here unless you're a scammer.

We don't talk enough about problematic asymmetry gaps in relationships
*So hopefully I'll never see this post 😸
I will say it is more fun to have and post on social media when people actually interact but this obsession with ‘big accounts’ feels really forced
I'm not public property, and no-one is owed my attention or time except my loved ones.
This whole thing is so incredibly dumb.
Why won’t you let me love you?!?!?!
Love having an asymmetric account. (Even though it is small)
Like it’s some kind of social obligation?
COVID gave a lot of people permanent brain damage.
*None* of these accounts *matter*, my dude, we're all just shouting into the void.
