Make Republicans break from Trump on tariffs and roll back those policies
Make people who would vote Republican stay home
Tie Republicans to the third rail that is(was?) SocSec

Even if it'd "work" in the end, the cost in sheer human misery is such that I'd prefer to, uh, avoid that path if at all possible. I'd prefer people not suffer or die. If we can do things to prevent any of it right now I think we need to strongly, strongly consider it at the very least.
