And I want to add the security excuse is a bunch of boloney. Today you can find a bunch of equipment and appliances that regulate heat, connected to the internet, and none of them require you to send information to China for approval.

Bambulab doesn’t require you to send data to china either. The whole security focus was forced upon bambulab in the beginning by the same userbase who were going absolutely bonkers over the fact that local network traffic to the printer was unencrypted. (Not that a focus on security is a bad thing).
