Shoxx was a Japanese music magazine that ran from 1990 to 2016. Styled as the "Visual and Hard Shock Magazine" it was one of the many homes of Visual Kei style.

Visual Kei is a bit hard to explain. It was a Japanese music and fashion movement that mixed glam, punk, rock and goth into a flamboyant, unique style.

X Japan, who formed in 1982, were probably the pioneers of Visual Kei and their heavy rock sound and gravity defying hair certainly gained them many fans.

Massive nostalgia for me! In 2009-2010 I was in a band (that never got off the ground) aiming to be American viskei. All that remains are some half-finished demos and a photo shoot.

When I saw Loudness open for Motley Crue..
They were definitely part of that movement,
Am I completely wrong?? They shredded and their all red leather outfits???
They were actually pretty damn metal!
