I’ve got to say as I’ve grown older I’ve really enjoyed a familiar and easy logic to a game like this. I could play variations of rdr2 (like same experience different setting) for a decade

That is fair, and no disrespect intended. However Im a true hardcore gamer (tm) and I feel like rockstar has innovated on so much except for gameplay. The gameplay is the same as gta3 and 4, and the wanted systems in games since are objectively worse than they were in those games.
I feel like any 15 year old gamer could design a wanted system better than the one they gave us in RDR2, in like 10 minutes of riffing. There isnt much excuse for that in a game that is literally 10/10 otherwise.
"posses dont just appear over the hill/around a corner, they come from the town you fled, or nearest population center. You have the time to flee that that would entail, making escape routes matter."
"if you had a mask on during a crime and change your clothes after, they dont recognize you"
To be fair, the most recent trailer for GTA6 does look like they have worked on this (cops drive right past our protags because the car details werent APB yet)
