At this point I think the answer is yes. Which is awkward as I'm working remotely from Australia, but I think they only agreed to this because I'd been working locally in NL for so long.
I think I could make a case for more programmers here in Australia, but at the moment not anywhere else :(

Very fair! My own situation is similar, I happened to be THE candidate for a very weird role in a team that’s already remote anyway etc etc.
And also congrats on the move back, hope it feels good!

Thanks! It was mostly for my boyfriend, who was so homesick he couldn't stand it anymore. Still working out how I feel about being back, but seeing my 93 year old granddad's huge smile when I saw him again was gold <3

But yeah, my boss is actually very open minded, just also cautious (which is not a bad combination for a boss, this has kept the company alive for 25 years). I think if my working remote experiment goes well then it'll be easier to try it out with more people.
