The Marines/ National Guardsmen are in an impossible position. They are obligated to obey orders, from the President. It can't be reasonably expected that these soldiers will disobey those orders.
The video shows probably the best way to handle the military members.
All these protests would still be non violent with the Marines and National Guard NOT there.
They are accomplishing nothing.
It is a waste of money and time and I am sure the Guardsmen hate the gig.
This is the National Guard I know who made Covid drive through testing fun by playing " Working at the Car Wash" while we swabbed away, car after car. They are mostly joyful, helpful young people.
